Jeffrey founded Overland Oil & Gas in 2011 and grew it to one of the leading private mineral and royalty businesses in the United States. Entrepreneurial by nature, Jeffrey has an extensive background in energy, real estate and finance. Prior to Overland, Jeffrey owned and operated a hotel and oil-field services business in Williston, North Dakota on the eve of the Bakken oil boom. Jeffrey currently serves on the Board of Directors of Wander & Ivy and is a member of YPO. He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, two children and dog, Riggs.

David joined Overland in 2016 at the launch of Overland Energy Partners. David has extensive experience in private equity investments, energy, mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financings. Prior to joining Overland, David practiced law focusing on energy mergers and acquisition and capital formation. David earned a B.A. with Distinction and Honors in Political Science from the University of Michigan and JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as a Senior Articles Editor of The Northwestern University Law Review. David resides in Boston, MA with his wife and three sons.

Hunter Burdick

Robert “Hunter” Burdick is a co-founder of Overland Minerals and Royalties and brings years of knowledge in petroleum land management, acquisitions and sales of leases, mineral rights and working interests. A Texas native, Hunter began his career in oil and gas at age 17 while working summers for Petro Land Group of Tyler, Texas. Over the course of his career, Hunter has worked for Petroleum Development Corporation (NYSE:PETD), Lone Tree Energy & Associates, and EnergyNet, Inc., Prio to Overland, Hunter brokered over 1,100 oil and gas property sales for various clients and acquired countless oil and gas leases for exploration and production. Outside of work, Hunter enjoys the outdoors with his wife, two children and dogs.

Joe Dumesnil

Managing Director of Geoscience and New Ventures

Joe joins Overland with more than 14 years’ experience in the petroleum industry and expert knowledge in geosciences supporting Overland’s new and existing ventures in oil and gas. Joe has worked in and managed multi-disciplinary technical teams focusing on reservoir optimization. Prior to Overland, Joe managed Halliburton’s Rocky Mountain expansion, hiring 1,200 new employees growing regional revenue. Joe served as a lead petrophysicist in Halliburton’s Denver Technical Team looking at over 1,000 wells a year, drilled in all major U.S. and developing international oil and gas plays. In 2011, Joe headed to China to head the development of Halliburton’s China Technical Team. Currently, Joe enjoys winter and summer weekends in the mountains with his wife and daughter.

Casey graduated with his BSBA from Colorado State University in 2011 and his Masters in Global Energy Management from the University of Colorado Denver Business School in 2017. Shortly after earning his undergraduate degree, Casey began his career in oil and gas services in North Dakota’s booming oil and gas industry.  Casey has knowledge as a field service supervisor, drilling fluids engineer, and technical sales representative on projects throughout the Rockies Region. Casey has been a dedicated land professional since completing his master’s coursework and gaining experience on numerous leasing, acquisition, and land administration projects. His diverse professional background and technical expertise in the oil and gas industry, brings a unique perspective to the Overland team. Outside of the office Casey enjoys Skiing, camping, hiking, fly fishing, and any activities in the great outdoors.

Nikki graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. from the Leeds School of Business. Joining Overland in 2018, Nikki brings a helping hand and positive attitude to many aspects around the office. Prior to the oil industry, she utilized her skills in the technology and nonprofit industries. In Nikki’s personal life, she enjoys sports and camping with two young boys and her husband.
